Small, Local, Open and Connected

Good article about resilience and sustainability.

BALTA

This web discussion was recommended by Mike Toye of the MMM Research Cluster. It explores resilience and sustainability in a global age. SLOC (small, local, open, and connected) explains how to design small and local initiatives that can be ecologically and socially resilient, yet networked or connected across the globe. The idea of relocalization  proposed here no longer needs be a ‘local trap,’ but a way forward – if we keep it SLOC!.

“The small and the local, when they are open and connected, can therefore become a design guideline for creating resilient systems and sustainable qualities, and a positive feedback loop between these systems.”
